The chromolithographs below depict ground squirrels (genus Citellus).  They are drawn by the celebrated illustrator Ernest Thompson Seton and cut from North American Fauna, No. 56, published by the USDA in 1937.  The plates are signed "Ernest E. Thompson."  Each is toned a light, even beige.
