The exquisite chromolithographs below are by John Ridgway and cut from the second volume of Charles Bendire's Life Histories of North American Birds, With Special Reference to Their Breeding Habits and Eggs, published in  Washington by the Government Printing Office, 1895. 

The plates are printed on heavy stock with almost no age toning. 
Lithography by Ketterlinus, Philadelphia. 
Occasional light foxing in the margins.
These plates of bird eggs are among the finest ever printed.
