These delicate, hand-colored octavo engravings are cut from Henry Leonard Meyer's seven-volume Coloured Illustrations of British Birds and their Eggs,published by Willis & Sotheran, London, 1853-57.  Though smaller than Morris or Bree prints, they compare very favorably in terms of quality.  The folio engravings are cut from Meyer's Illustrations of British Birds (1834-44)
