The chromolithographs are cut from Erwin Lindner's (1888-1988) Die Fliegen der Palearktischen Region (Flies of the Palearctic Region), published in Stuttgart, 1924.  From 1913 to 1953, Lindner was head of the entomology department at the State Museum of Natural History at Stuttgart.  The plates are clean and fresh with a little toning aroung the periphery.
