Robert Hogg (1)
& George W. Johnson

The hand-colored lithographs below are cut from  Robert Hogg and George W. Johnson's Wildflowers of Great Britain Botanically and Popularly Described, 1863-68.  The plates were originally published in monthly installments in the Journal of Horticulture, Cottage Gardener, and Country Gentleman.  The plates are by Charlotte Gower (Titles in Cursive Script) and W. G. Smith.  The plates have light age toning and a rough edge where they were bound.  The plates are whole and intact, though the species names may have been cropped in some of the photos.  Accompanying text is available for most plates.
Size:   8.5 x 5.25 inches
