The lithographs on this page are cut from different volumes of Leopold Joseph Franz Johann Fitzinger's (1802-84) classic Natural History, published in Vienna, 1860-64.  Fitzinger worked at the Vienna Naturhistorisches Museum and later became director of the Munich and Budapest zoos.  He is best known for his work with reptiles.
