Barton Warren Evermann (2)
Fishes of Puerto Rico

The chromolithographs below are cut from Dr. Barton Warren Evermann's (1853-1932) classic Reports on the Investigations in Porto Rico of the U.S. Fish Commission Steamer Fish Hawk in 1899, published in Washington, DC, 1900. The plates, printed by Julius Bien, are by Charles Bradford Hudson and A. H. Baldwin.  These plates are clean.  The have very light age-toning with slightly darker toning around the edges.  There may be thread holes along the top edge where the prints were bound.

The trout chromolithographs below are cut from B. W. Evermann's article "Golden Trout of the High Sierras," which appeared in the Bulletin of the Bureau of Fisheries, Volume 25, published in 1906.  The plates are clean and toned a mild ivory, so that the background is a little darker than the scans suggest.
