Daniel Giraud Elliot

These chromolithographs are cut from Daniel Giraud Elliot's classic, three-volume Review of the Primates ,  a monograph published by the American Museum of Natural History, New York, 1913.   The plates are by Joseph Wolf, Joseph Smit, J. G. Keulemans, and Louis Agassiz Fuertes.  Elliot, along with Albert S. Bickmore, founded the American Museum of Natural History (1894) and served as curator of the Field Museum in Chicago.  He also founded the Zoological Society of France and the American Ornithogogists' Union.
