These striking chromolithographs are cut from the second edition of Alfred Edmund Brehm's classic Illustrirtes Tierleben, published in 1882 by the Bibliographisches Institut of Lepzig, famed for its color lithography.   The unsigned plates are by Robert Kretschmer, Gustav  Mützel , Anton Göring, Ludwig Beckmann, and Christian Johann Kröner.
