John James Audubon
Quadrupeds (1)

audubon portrait

The
hand-colored lithographic plates below are cut from the first octavo edition of The Quadrupeds of North America, published between 1849 and 1854 by J. T. Bowen of Philadelphia.  The backgrounds are printed, while the animals, botanicals, and most landscape elements are hand-colored.

The figures tend to scan a little darker than they actually are.

Size: 7 x 10.5 inches
